Video: Coming Out in the Military

This is probably the sweetest thing I've seen in weeks. This soldier is calling home to come out to his dad.

This guy just earned champ status in my books.

    It must have taken a lot of nerve for him to do that. You could see how nervous he was. Nice that his dad was okay with it.

    It was funny when he asked if his dad would tell his mom, and dad said, "I don't think so." (or something like that)

    OMG, he is so fucking nervous and he looks like he's about to cry and it really really is sweet :( and I like his dad's reaction, when he told him "do you wanna tell mommy for me?" :D And I'm bit sad my parents didn't react like this :(

    I remember the agony of having to pretend around my good friends, and the anger I felt at being boxed in by straight society. Looking back, it limited the potential of my life in so many ways. Many of us older gay guys have justifiable anger and bitterness at the way we were made to feel and I don't ever want to see that for young gay people today. How many gay soldiers, forced to keep their sexuality secret, have already died for their country? That is the real shame. - Wayne
